Rural Transportation Connects

Blind Spot, a new resource developed by Grantmakers In Aging with Age Friendly Arizona, features compelling data and insights from the field to support communities in launching transportation services for older adults in rural areas.

Leaders from AARP, rural Arizona, and Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust shared their deep expertise and diverse perspectives to give viewers of the webinar below the tools, context, and innovations vital to supporting mobility in rural communities.

Speakers included Jana Lynott, AARP with a call to action for communities to remove insurance barriers for volunteer drivers; Stacey Easterling, Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust demonstrated how philanthropy can catalyze sustainable change; Christopher Bridges, Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization offered a rural and transportation provider perspective; and Becky Miller, Arizona Transit Association illustrated the importance of bridging among transportation and aging partners.
